Are the SA XD's permitted in IDPA competitions? Are paddle holsters permitted?

Yes. The XD is a great IDPA gun, and you can shoot it with the gear that it comes with.
I shoot an XD-9 Tactical in IDPA myself. It is important to note, though, that the XD is automatically classified as ESP in IDPA.
